The Photographer
Robert Lawrence is a Pembrokeshire based photographer whose principle interest is wildlife and the natural world.
He was born in Cardiff and spent his early childhood in the middle of the city yet, despite that drawback, he developed an interest in wildlife which remains with him to the present day. A move to the relatively rural town of Caerphilly at the age of eight gave him the opportunity to get out into the surrounding countryside and to see at first hand the natural world that was denied him in the city.
He spent a number of years in the Royal Air Force and was trained in technical/commercial type photography at the Joint Services School of Photography, RAF Cosford in the Midlands. From there he was posted to RAF Brawdy in Pembrokeshire, the county he was to later call home.

Working full time means that the amount of time available for photography is at a premium but he spends as much of it as he can photographing wildlife, both in the West Wales countryside and further afield.
( favourite haunts are several of the reserves run by the Wildlife Trusts of South and West Wales such as Skomer, Westfield Pill and Teifi Marshes ).
Recent trips have included the Bass Rock in Scotland, the Farne Islands in Northumberland and Donna Nook in Lincolnshire.
Although working full time in an entirely different sector Robert has had many of his photographs published in various magazines and publications.
